In terms of improving the reliability of the excitation control system and realizing complex control laws, the all-digital excitation device has obvious advantages. In recent years, the digital control technology has been developing rapidly and the application technology is becoming more and more mature, which provides a solid technical foundation for the development of all-digital automatic excitation device.

In order to improve the operation level of China's generator sets as soon as possible, and to meet the higher and higher requirements for the excitation system put forward by the larger and larger power grids, we have developed the KGL generator all-digital excitation device, which inherits all the regulating, controlling and limiting protection functions of the old excitation device and combines with the on-site operation experience of more than 168 sets of all-digital excitation device, and has successfully developed a new generation of products with the latest computer control technology, digital signal processor (DSP) technology and advanced network and communication technology. Based on the field operation experience of more than 168 sets of full digital excitation devices, it is developed as a new generation product by fully applying the latest computer control technology, digital signal processor (DSP) technology and advanced network and communication technology. The excitation device makes comprehensive use of the modern excitation control theory of the generator and adopts the internationally popular all-digital control technology and semiconductor controllable rectification technology, which is completely different from the previous excitation device with analog and digital control technology. In the calculation speed, anti-electromagnetic interference, reliability and ease of use have been greatly improved. Its main control unit achieves the standard control of generator operation by optimizing the generator's operating parameters, operating curves and characteristic curves.

 

2. Main Features

*Fast control speed and high precision:

Adopting multi-processor system, Harvard structure, parallel processing technology, multi-stage pipeline, high-speed DSP kernel, the data processing speed and accuracy is greatly improved. 32-channel analog acquisition are 144 points per cycle (every 20 milliseconds) high-speed AC direct sampling, higher precision.

*Full digitalization, versatility, high reliability:

*Surface paste process, multi-layer printed circuit boards, military-grade chips, important chips are all from domestic and foreign well-known enterprises of mature products. Ensuring that the average trouble-free time of the device is up to 100,000 hours.

*Using microcontroller real-time multi-tasking operating system RTOS and its powerful expert library functions, task-oriented programming style, arrange resource management, task scheduling, exception handling etc. according to the full priority service, work is extremely reliable.

*Programmed in C language or ladder diagram (PLD), structural text (ST), data module editor, data type editor etc., with fast execution speed, good readability, easy to expand and transplant.

*Convenient and intuitive man-machine interface.

*For brushless excitation system, have rotating rectifier disk fault monitoring function.

*Reliable demagnetization system: selection of reliable demagnetization system: demagnetization switch plus non-linear resistance or linear resistance demagnetization and inverter demagnetization system.

*Perfect self-checking, control and protection functions to protect the excitation device itself and the safe operation of the generator.

It has the protection functions of false strong excitation, over-excitation reverse time limit, under-excitation, PT disconnection, V/HZ protection, loss of pulse, equalization of current overlimit detection and protection, over-current, over-voltage, thyristor failure, hardware failure and so on.

*The rectifier bridge and fan unit adopt modularized structure, which is easy to install and replace. The control unit and fan unit can be replaced on-line without stopping or load shedding.

*The excitation function can be adjusted manually and automatically (constant terminal voltage, constant power factor and constant reactive power), and they can be switched without disturbing each other.

*Dual-channel standby mode of operation.

*Ultra-powerful oscilloscope function.

 

3. Main Technical Indexes and Functions

KGLF excitation device fully meets or exceeds GB/T 7409.3-1997 technical requirements for excitation systems of large and medium-sized generators.

Specific index parameters are as follows:

1、Voltage regulation precision: ≤0.5%.

2、Voltage regulation range: 5%~130%.

3、Adjustment range: software reactive power difference adjustment, can arbitrarily set the size of the difference and positive, negative direction, level difference of 1%.

4、Adjustment frequency: no less than 300 times/second.

5、Thyristor control angle α resolution: 0.0048 degrees / bit code.

6、A/D conversion: 32 inputs, 18-bit resolution.

7、A/D conversion rate: 400K/S.

8、Phase shift range: 10~150 degrees, upper and lower limits can be set.

9、Switching I / O: 24-way switching opto-isolated input, 24-way switching output, of which 4-way opto-isolated output, 20-way relay output.

10、D / A output: 2-way isolated D / A converter, each D / A output can specifically select the variable to be output in the menu.

D/A range: 2-way -2V ~ +2V (isolated), 16-bit resolution.

11、4 ~ 20mA output: 2-way 4 ~ 20mA output (isolated), 16-bit resolution.

12、Trigger pulse: six-phase double pulse for three-phase fully-controlled rectifier bridge, pulse width 100uS, can simultaneously trigger more than 5 groups of parallel operation of three-phase fully-controlled bridge.

14、Step characteristics: in the no-load rated voltage, when the generator is given a step of ± 10%, the generator voltage overshoot is less than 20% of the step, the number of oscillations is less than 2, the regulation time is less than 5 seconds.

15、When the generator zero start boost, the generator terminal voltage overshoot does not exceed 10% of the rated voltage, the number of oscillations is less than 2 times, the regulation time is less than 5 seconds.

16、Frequency characteristics: for every 1% change in frequency, the generator terminal voltage will not change by more than ±0.25% of the rated value.

17、The excitation system is tested according to the international severe level 3 electromagnetic interference test standards, and should not be misregulated, malfunctioned or interrupted when it is subjected to the interference at the above level.

18、The annual forced withdrawal ratio of the excitation system shall not be bigger than 0.05%.

19、Power supply adaptability: power supply voltage variation range ± 50%.

20、Regulator input electrical quantity:

Stator voltage: measure PT, 3 phases; meter PT, 3 phases.

Stator current: 3-phase. Rotor voltage, current signal.

Synchronized voltage signal: 3-phase.

21、Power supply power: less than 200W.

 

4. The Hardware Composition of Generator Excitation Cabinet

For the specific requirements of users and different generator sets, the configuration of KGLF excitation device can be single channel (i.e., one set of master control unit and one set of power unit) or dual-channel operation (i.e., two sets of master control units and two sets of power units) or mixed mode (i.e., two sets of master control units and one set of power units or one set of master control units and two sets of power units), and the dual-channel working mode is equipped with two completely independent control cabinets. The two systems operate in parallel and are completely redundant without any common parts, and each system can meet the requirements of various generator operating conditions, including strong excitation on the characteristics and reliability of excitation regulation.
